Biography - Andrea Leong

Andrea Leong is the leader of the Science Party. She grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria, and completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (with Honours in Microbiology) at Monash University in 2008. After two years as a lab technician with the Biointerface Engineering group at Swinburne University, she moved to Sydney to take up a lab-based PhD project at the Brien Holden Vision Institute, based at the University of New South Wales. She submitted her thesis on antibacterial surfaces in 2016, and then moved into microbiome research. Andrea was the Science Party's candidate for Kingsford Smith in 2016, for Wentworth in the 2018 by-election, and the NSW Senate in 2019.
