Sydney - March Meeting

You can watch the discussion here, but if you'd like to participate in the Q&A, you'll need to go to the YouTube link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGnyLhnDApw&feature=youtu.be) and type your questions in the comments section there. If you don't see the comments window on YouTube, you might need to create an account and/or log in, which you can do with any valid email address.

UPDATE 13/3/2020: Due to public health concerns around COVID-19, our special presentation with Jonathan Symons on Thursday 19th March will not be a face-to-face event. It will be live-streamed on YouTube so you can watch and join the Q&A from home. Please RSVP to this event to make sure you receive the YouTube live link shortly before the start of the event.

[Jon Symons and the cover of his book 'Ecomodernism'] What is ecomodenism, and can it inform our pursuit of a good future for humanity and the planet?

Our March meeting will be a special event: an evening in conversation with Jonathan Symons, the author of 'Ecomodernism: Technology, Politics and The Climate Crisis' (2019).

In the book, Symons offers an analysis of the ecomodernist movement—including the idea that technological innovation can get us out of the environmental mess we're in, but it will require government-level investment.

After an interview-style discussion with our host Andrea Leong, we will open it up to the room for questions. So check out the book and get your questions ready! Here's a recent interview to kick you off.

There is no cost to attend, but RSVPs are essential as space is limited. The only limit on attendance is the capacity of the internet.
